Prioritising active travel

We have just taken delivery of a brand new Brompton bicycle for our team to use. It has six gears, dynamo lights, and mudguards and comes in architect standard regulation black. Andy already has one he uses regularly, but we thought it looked lonely and could do with a friend. The Brompton is now in the studio and for anyone to use to go to construction sites, meetings, or borrow for the weekend. We’ve added our own stickers and branding of course and give us a wave if you see us out and about.

We have taken advantage of Brompton’s annual hire package, where we pay a very reasonable monthly fee for the bike, and it includes insurance and a service every six months. It seems like a very cost-effective way of providing active travel options for our team. We also hope to save a few pounds on Lime bikes which we also regularly use.

As an organisation, we prioritise active travel, as shown in the below diagram. Having the Brompton also allows us to mix up our transport modes with short cycle rides at either end. We are developing our transport policy further in our BCorp work.
